Mary Finnin
Mary found her way to yoga while navigating the challenges of raising four children and caring for her mother, who was terminally ill. She first approached yoga as a form of exercise, and it quickly became a transformative experience. One that helped her reconnect with herself. Mary discovered that yoga is far more than a physical practice; it’s a way of living in the present moment and embracing every part of life with grace. By staying present and allowing emotions to flow freely, we learn that they are temporary and ever-changing.
Mary is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and is currently completing her 300-hour training. She teaches a Hatha-style yoga that emphasizes mindful breathwork and holding postures for longer periods, helping to quiet the mind and strengthen the body. As a former high school social studies teacher, she loves weaving yogic philosophy into each class, creating themes that students can carry with them off the mat and into daily life. Mary is also a trained meditation teacher.
When she is not on the mat or in meditation, you can find her paddleboarding on the Great South Bay, gardening, reading, or spending time with her husband and their young adult children. A lifelong Bay Shore resident, Mary is thrilled to be part of the Studio 175 community!
